Thats like reading a label on a product that says For external use, and then saying well, it doesnt say I cant drink it.
![]() That being said Apple made a point of noting that they could be run side by side. OAW. If I recall (and they havent changed it) the 1Password extension communicates with the 1Password daemon via a standard socket. Ive not played around with say Little Snitch to see exactly what it is hitting, but if its written to assume only one process of the 1Password Safari extension is running at a time then the TP version may be trying to communicate with the daemon and cant. The other thing to check (Ive not downloaded the TP Safari) is if extensions are enabled at all by default. You may need to re-enable them if the TP isnt using the same cache and settings as Safari. Ive no idea what theyre doing under the hood but I doubt the code is written to be multiprocess safe for everything so they must be separating the cache and settings to some degree if its designed to be run simultaneously with Safari. Though I wonder if thats due to not having Ghostery and Ad Block and my various other extensions installed. Otherwise, developers could just use the nightlies, which are lacking keychain and iCloud integration with existing Safari. Speaking of, 1Password indeed doesnt work yet: You can fix this in 1Password settings-- on the Advanced tab, uncheck Verify browser code signature. AgileBits typically doesnt typically go out of their way to support prerelease browser versions, so you might be waiting a while. ![]() Looks like they are planning to add the code signature, starting with the first beta of 6.3 (which isnt out yet). Safari Technology Preview 10.1 Verification For 1PasswordIn the meantime, youll have to disable code signature verification for 1Password to work in the Safari preview. From the download page: Quote: Get a sneak peek at upcoming web technologies in OS X and iOS and experiment with these technologies in your websites and extensions. If they didnt mean it to be used as a primary browser, why go through all this trouble Why enable iCloud or the other features that the WebKit nightlies dont support Why distribute updates every 2 weeks through the AppStore Developers have been able to use the nightlies for development for years. I would be highly surprised if Apple provides any support for users who want to use this as a daily browser, and that to me is what really indicates that its not meant for end-user use on a day to day basis. If you have Apple Care or are within the 90 day purchase window, Apple will help you with any 1st party software issues you may face. ![]()
